Investigation of photocatalytic activity (under visible light) of ultrathin CZTS films produced in different thicknesses by PLD method

Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films in 61 nm, 112 242 nm and 313 thickness which have been produced by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) on Soda Lime Glass substrates as a function of the number laser pulses. As deposition ablated material has augmented with increasing pulses, it noticed that CZTS-ultrathin film’s thicknesses particle sizes increased, their crystalline structures improved. Larger particles limit transmission light cause to absorb photons. The band gaps CZTS (61 nm), (112 (242 nm) (313 film determined be 1.95 eV, 1.90 1.50 eV 1.45 respectively. ultrathin thinnest one among this work, is Cu S poor but Sn Zn rich. By film, observed amount were ratio decreased. In addition, systematically investigated photocatalytic activity ultra-thin coated different PLD method. Among all photocatalysts, (in thickness) photocatalyst exhibited highest performance, managing remove 96.1% methylene blue (MB) 240 min. Furthermore, mechanism performs photocatalysis scavenger experiments, was $${}^{ \cdot }O_{2}^{ - }$$ radical ions an important role reaction, while holes little effect.
